Where to bird around Baton Rouge

Are you interested in birding in Louisiana? The best overall place to find places to bird is to check out the Louisiana Birding Trails website. Find it here

You can also use eBird.org to find places to bird in Louisiana. This is particularly useful if you have target birds you want to see, because you can find where those species have been reported. Visit eBird.org and look under View and Explore data. Choose Louisiana as the location, and then Bar Charts. This will show you all the species of birds that have been found in Louisiana. If you choose a particular species, you can see a map of all the locations where that bird has been reported in eBird.

If you're interested in birding around the Baton Rouge area specifically, one of our members has created a list of places to go, along with some idea of the birds that you're likely to find there in different seasons. The list is still a work in progress, but it might give you some idea of where to go. Please Click Here to follow the link below to visit Jane Patterson's webpage.

You might also want to join us for a field trip. Click here => Field Trips to see if we have any field trips coming up!
